Applications for area payments during the main submission period have ended, but submissions are still possible until June 16
As of May 22, 2025, a total of 47,513 applications for area payments have been submitted during the main submission period. Currently, an area of 1.73 million hectares has been applied for support. Farmers continue to actively submit applications, so both the number of applications and the total area will increase. The final total number of applications and declared area for 2025 will be known after June 16.
It is still possible to apply for area payments with a late submission penalty of 1% for each working day until June 16, by filling in the geospatial application in the Rural Support Service Electronic Application System (EPS).
As of May 22, the highest number of applications has been received from farmers in the South Latgale Regional Agricultural Administration area – 8,941 applications have been submitted there. The second most active regional administration has been the North Vidzeme Regional Agricultural Administration, where 6,647 applications have been received.
Important! If corrections or clarifications need to be made in the geospatial application, these can also be done until June 16.
Special attention should be paid to:
- Whether the farmer has applied for all types of support and whether the relevant boxes are checked in the geospatial EPS application;
- Whether fields that had winter cover are also indicated as such in the geospatial application;
- Whether farmers growing catch crops have applied for Eco Scheme No. 2.
Please note! The deadline for submitting landscape elements for support under Eco Scheme No. 3 (EKO3) – for the creation and maintenance of landscape elements – has been extended until June 2. The application must be submitted in EPS as a Rural Block/Landscape Element Correction Request. Exceptionally, support for EKO3 can be applied for without late penalties even after May 22 – up until the end of the application period on June 16.
