How to report rainstorm and storm damage in agriculture?
From July 31 to August 15, farmers can submit information about storm and rainstorm damage on their farms using the Rural Support Service’s Electronic Application System (EPS).
To report damage, a specific application form must be completed: “Application for Assessment of Damage Caused by July 2024 Storm and Rainstorms,” to which photos showing the damage must be attached.
The application can be filled out by logging into EPS. The following information must be provided:
- Field;
- Crop code and name;
- Damaged area in hectares;
- Information on whether the field is insured or not;
- Comments on the specific field can be added in the notes section.
If production buildings or equipment are damaged, details of what is affected can be entered in a separate notes section.
Photos with geospatial location must be attached to the application. Farmers can do this using the authorized version of the LAD mobile app.
For questions, information can be obtained by calling Rural Support Service’s customer service specialists at 67095000 (on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
