Registration of seasonal agricultrual workers in 2024

From April 1 to November 30, 2024, the annual period for registering seasonal agricultural workers took place in the Electronic Application System of Rural Support Service. Farms engaged in fruit and vegetable cultivation, as well as those employing workers for seasonal tasks and stone collection in crop, planting, or grassland areas, utilized this system to simplify employee record-keeping.

Compared to 2023, the number of registered seasonal field workers increased by 22% in 2024, while the number of farms grew by 16.5%.

Last season, 3,823 farmers actively participated in these activities. During the season, a total of 473 farms employed field workers across all regions of Latvia. The Zemgale and Northern Vidzeme regions maintained their leading positions in terms of the highest number of employed field workers, with 110 and 103 farms, respectively.

Farms register workers using the RSS mobile application, which also provides up-to-date information about currently employed seasonal field workers, allows for data corrections, registration of new seasonal workers, and an overview of employee achievements.

This year, farms will again have the opportunity to register seasonal agricultural workers and use special tax regime starting April 1.
